Since the nineties lamps with GU10 socket advanced more and more. Lamps with GU10 socket are powered directly by AC 230V and thus it doesn't require a external 12V transformer. Today GU10 lamps have a wide distribution and are among our best selling LED models. The lumen of a GU10 bulb is due to its spiral lower than comparable 12V models. Therefore, a 35W GU10 version is only as bright as a 20W 12V version. Consequently, 50W GU10 match only 35W 12V MR16.

With today's technology it is possible to replace an LED versions with more than 200lm 35W to a conventional halogen model. Huge savings can be generated with this replacement. A short payback time is guaranteed! The original light color of a halogen version is about 2900 Kelvin. We recommend to use LEDs with 3000K. Only in hotels and in homes with natural wood tones we advise to a color of 2800 Kelvin.
